Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 2 cans ful
- 3 cloves garlic (or more depends on your preference)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ¼ cup minced green or red onion
- 1 chopped tomato
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp parsley
- 1 tsp cumin (optional)
- 1 tbsp tahini (optional for more flavour)
Method:
- In a medium pot, empty the can of ful and simmer on medium heat. Remove the pot from the stove gently mash the beans to a consistency you desire. The traditional recipe calls for about half-smashed and half-whole beans.
- If you choose to incorporate the tahini, stir it into the beans while hot.
- Add the salt, cumin, lemon juice and garlic into the beans and stir.
- Top the dish off with the chopped tomatoes, onions, and parsley and sprinkle more salt onto the tomato.
- Drizzle as much olive oil as you prefer.
- Enjoy warm or at room temperature and serve with warm pita bread or simply eat it with a spoon.
**This ful recipe will stay great in an air tight container in the fridge for up to five days.
